Diploma in Banking and Finance Passing Criteria
- 1. Minimum marks for passing in the subject is 50 out of 100.
- 2. Candidates securing a minimum forty five marks in every problem with a mixture of 50% marks n in all topics of exam in an unmarried try can also be declared as having n finished the Examination.
- 3. Candidates can be allowed to preserve credit for the problem they have handed in and try until the expiry of the time restriction for passing the exam.
Time limit for passing the DBF Exam
- Candidates will be required to pass the examination within a time limit of 2 years (i.e. 4 consecutive attempts).
- Candidates not able to pass the examination within a stipulated time period of two years are required to re-enroll themselves afresh. Such candidates will not be granted credit/s for subject/s passed, if any, earlier.
- A time limit of 2 years will start from the date of application for the first attempt. Attempts will be counted irrespective of whether a candidate appears for any examination or otherwise

People who are not already part of the Institute can take this exam if they’ve finished high school (12th grade) or a similar program. If you’re already a member of the Institute, you can’t take this exam because you’re allowed to take another one called JAIIB instead.
